Mass Effect YAOI Sketch Book

Default man!Shep is my muse. Expect lots of rough sketches of Kaidan x Shepard, Garrus x Shepard. Heck, I might even draw Legion x Shepard.

  • An End Once and For All

Wow, photoset is perfect for displaying comic!

Also, more thoughts (though be warned of mentions of character deaths)

Shepard is godfather to Wrex and Eve’s little girl, Mordin, who is going to become the first Krogan scientist; but an ass-kicking scientist like her namesake.

Vega became the captain of his own ship, with plenty of new recruits who calls him ‘old man’ to deal with.

    Dr. Chakawas finally retired.

General Vakarian continues to make life difficult for mercenaries and slavers alike.

Liara and Javik are still traveling around the galaxy, writing their third best-selling cookbook together.

Oriana started a family and named her first-born daughter in honor of her sister.

With the exception of the few surviving Quarians and Shepard, who returns to  Rannoch every year on the anniversary of the final battle, the geth have repulsed every other species’ effort to resettle the planet.

A cure for Kepral’s Syndrome was discovered.

For his last act as commander of the Normandy, Shepard married Edi and Joker though it was and still is not a legally recognized union. Traynor and her wife, a lawyer, continues to press the council on this matter.

Edi grew gray hair to match Jeff’s.

For good or ill, Aria returned to Omega. She was instrumental in helping the Alliance track down the very last of the Ceberus insurgents.

SSV Anderson was commissioned in honor of Admiral David Anderson.

Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani never managed to convince Shepard to sanction his own biography though he did help her in writing Anderson’s. She donated most of the proceeds to the Shepard Scholarship.

Grunt received more mating requests than he knew what to do with.

Personally, I think that Shepard admires the core principles of the Alliance but he has even less patience for all the bureaucracy and politics that goes with command than Anderson. So I see him choosing to teach at Grissom instead of advancing up the command structure. Besides, it’s nice to think that peace eventually catches up with Commander Shepard.

Kaidan on the other hand, is an Alliance man through and through.

Even in a shooting war soldiers need a break, Part of the problem is that ME3 is a game, we dont know/see the real-time itd take to move from system to system. Even at FTL it takes longer than the time we see in game.

So when I played, I took account of when I return to the citadel for repair and downtime and built that into my narrative. Ultimately, I think it’s not that the crew took some downtime to party that bothers me. It’s the fact that there was very little context to why it was happening….

I don’t know. I think it would have been better if there was more of a setup. Maybe Dr.Chakwas thought Shepard was working too hard and everyone decided to force some downtime on him, a birthday party. Hell, a wake even.

I definitely took this game more seriously than I should though

Oh I loved that joke, thought it was perfect, plus I dont really think jokes like would have made sense on earth, once you reach earth its serious factor x10. As for the posh apartment Anderson was a coucilor before Udina took over (for me anyway)

Exactly. My mindset for all of ME3 was pretty much seriousness x 10. I just can’t figure out when this DLC should take place that would make narrative sense to me.

I didn’t care for when the joke was delivered. I thought everything was going to take a turn for the serious then Shepard points out the Brook’s ridiculous incompetence. The Illusive man she is not.

It’s not the poshness of the apt that bothered me, it’s why this meaningful goodbye party has to be set in this new environment that I’m completely emotionally unattached to.

Oh well, it’s just a DLC. And wow, I can’t believe Mass Effect was able to capture my FEELS for this long.

I didnt mind because the Normandy is drydocked for repairs. Might as well have at least one night where they celebrate together to remind them exactly what theyre fighting for. Plus its likely the last opportunity to do so.

Yeah…in theory sure. But the execution felt contrived for me. Why was Wrex there instead of fighting on Tuchanka? What’s with the posh apartment? Why did Anderson leave recordings everywhere? Did he think that Shepard would forget about him or something? On the other hand, I WANT to spend more time with Wrex, learn MORE about Anderson but…but more meaningfully. I don’t know.

It just occurred to me that this DLC might have been better set on Earth instead of at the Citadel. Everyone is already gathered on Earth and we could all have one last hurrah before the end, on the battlefield, amidst the destruction and ruins…one LAST life-affirming gathering.

Instead I get jokes about ‘I should go’. GRR.

  • Citadel DLC rant (spoiler free)

I’m glad that a lot of people like the Citadel DLC. But it’s pretty disappointing for me. Actually a lot disappointing for me.

First, the tone of the main mission is completely wrong. It doesn’t fit into the narrative flow that I’ve built up for myself. The mission takes place after Ceberus attacked the Citadel, but I never got the impression of the reality of that situation of that during the mission. And all the dialogues…too much referential humor, which is fine if this is some random mission during ME2 but not for something that occurs in the MIDDLE of a galactic reaper invasion.

Second, the villain. Bioware went for the ultimate scifi cliche. It’s not the cliche part that bothers me, it’s how disappointing it was handled. They could have used the theme to explore some profound concepts but instead they just left me baffled as to the motivation of the villain. It COULD have changed the ending dramatically but of course it WON’T so why bother creating/introducing such a villain in the first place. To be fair, the end boss fight was FUN.

Third, the party. Yeah, that’s apparently what most people like about this DLC. For me, well….WHAT THE HECK, the galaxy is burning and it’s party time?? I LOVE most the conversation moments in the game. But I LOVE them because they’re built into the narrative structure of the game, not because a bunch of characters are stuck together in a room so you can talk with them.

Also, it’s suppose to be a moving goodbye. Well, I’ve already said my goodbyes: to Mordin, to Thane, etc. For me, ME3 was memorable because of all the losses, the decisions we have to make that sacrifices one friend for another, all the missed opportunities. I don’t need/want to be appeased with a party featuring all the characters.

Basically, Citadel DLC is just fanservice, but not for this fan ~.~

HOLY COW, this is Shepard (hair notwithstanding) the way I see him in my head. Bright-eyed still with that lean, hungry look from his childhood. Buzz-cut!Shepard coming soon…but I have to draw more uniforms.

And of course, no Shepard is complete without Alenko

I think I LOVE painting….but still HATING on colors :D
